Here we are again with Activision's 14th installment in the Call of Duty series. Call of Duty WWII, it was released worldwide November 3, 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PS4, and Xbox One. Set during WWII hence the name, it is centered around a squad in the 1st Infantry Division and their battles on the Western Front. It is set mainly in the historical events of Operation Overload. With WWII Activision took a completely different approach compared to what they have been doing. They left their modernized futuristic theme and went back to that of World at War. Remember World at War eh? Man, that was the beginning of the good ol days of the series.

You can choose from 3 different game modes to play in WWII, they are Campaign, Multiplayer and Co-Op. I feel World War II has, in many ways, been exactly the game the franchise needed after five years of in my opinion being too futuristic. Don't get me wrong I like futuristic shooting games, but they have gone a little overboard with the futuristic aspect. I've talked with some of my buddies about this before to. How COD games have been getting easier to beat and how the challenge aspect of the games has been fading. I know personally my obsession, eagerness, or enthusiasm towards playing the series has faded more and more until now.

Activision knocked the ball out of the park with WWII. I love how there is a higher overall difficulty implemented into the gameplay. Makes the game more realistic and fun to play. Its a fun campaign with some pretty great missions to. They brought Health Packs back into play. Taking cover behind something and waiting until your health regenerates no longer works. Staying in close proximity to your squad and requesting health packs from them when needed is what I recommend doing for survival.

There is 29 in game weapons which include automatic rifles and sniper rifles. Another thing is you have no high tech equipment to help keep you alive so you rely on your squad and teamwork to survive. Which I think is pretty cool. I love this because it makes it feel more realistic. Each of you squad members have unique perks that they use to assist you based on your needs and performance during combat. The perks they use to help you, have a cool down period that shortens by the amount of Nazi troops you kill. If you've gotten away from the series this just might be the one to bring you back. Overall I give it 2 thumbs way up. I really enjoy playing it.
